This year, more than400 citizens, representing more than 100 community and civic
 organizations, participated in the summit and expo. The event included an extensive

 addition to this year's program was Let's Talk DeKalb, a town hall style session
featuring DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis and Commissioners
Kathie Gannon, Jeff Rader andSharon Barnes Sutton.

Many citizens were thrilled about the event."I want to say you organizeda GREAT
event. This is the firstsuccessful neighborhood initiative that I have witnessed
 inmy 14-yearswith the county. Continue to makeneighborhoods stronger through collaboration."

Water & Sewer Projects Information Meeting
December 7th, 2010
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

County watershed experts have assessed the water, sewer and infrastructure needs
 and have identified critical capital improvement projects that are needed over
the next five years to ensure our water supply is adequate and safe for drinking,
fire protection, our anticipated growth and development, and that the county is
in full compliance with all state and federal regulations.
This meeting will provide an explanation of the repairs and upgrades needed and
the proposed fee structure to pay for the program.

Commissioner Barnes Sutton is hosting this meeting to receive input from the residents
and business owners of District 4 that will assist in developing a district wide
 plan that enhances the neighborhoods, increases public safety, and provides business
opportunities and economic development.

All District 4 citizens and business owners, are encouraged to attend. Your input
is needed to help define the future course of action and direction for this area.
We will look at  where we are now, where we want to go and when to do it.

Marquel Peters Candle Light Vigil
December 17th, 2010Marquel's Pledge - Stop Celebratory Gunfire []
7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Church of God Prophecy
3333 Convington Drive
Decatur, GA
Please join DeKalb  County Police in showing support  to Marquel Peters by honoring
him on December 17, 2010.  Pastor Phillips of  Church of God Prophecy will perform
a  candle light vigil to remember and honor Marquel Peters.  The program will consist
of choirs who  participated in the gospel competition.  Pastor Phillips will perform
a  benediction on behalf of Marquel Peters. A candle light and moment of silence
  will end the program.
In remembrance, DeKalb County began a pledge drive to stop celebratory gunfire.
