| Atlanta Marathon in our neighborhood | October 26, 2011 @ 7:04pm | We're excited to announce that part of the Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay course will pass through our community on the morning of October 30th. The Atlanta Track Club is hosting the event and invites all of us to participate by cheering on the runners as they run by our homes.
The Atlanta Track Club has introduced a new element to the marathon this year that coincides with the marathon's revamped focus on giving back to our community. The Adopt a Marathon Mile program will benefit many notable Atlanta nonprofits. Miles 19-21, which includes our LLCC community, will benefit the Center for Puppetry Arts. We invite you to get creative (i.e. costumes) and come out the morning of the 30th to show your support for the runners and participating charities.
Please note the Atlanta Marathon will impact traffic on October 30. To see the route for the Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay, click HERE. The chart below shows street closures in our area. Please plan your travel accordingly, refrain from parking along the route and follow all police instruction and signage regarding these road closures.
