| Kittredge Park June 14th event | June 15, 2009 @ 6:52am | Thanks to all, we had a great turnout on Sunday, probably 80 to 100 people when the final count comes in. We ventured into new areas to the north side of park, for cleanup of invasive species. A good bit of ground was covered considering only 2 hours were used. The last hour we were joined by Commissioners Rader and Gannon and Dave Butler from Dekalb Parks, to enjoy pizza provided by Maddio's Pizza Joint and Broadway Cafe; and judging of the T-shirt design contest by popular acclaim. The donated Bounce House remained in constant use by kids too young to help, and those older ones with excess energy.
Hopefully the park received additional exposure by virtue of this event. I did not see the footage on Channel 46, if you did please report here.
The T-shirts are expected to be printed and available for sale, by next months clean up, July 12th. They should help to raise a few dollars to defray the cost of drinks and snacks that have been primarily paid for by NDHRA.
