Greenspace Forum on Dec. 10th had a great presentation about the county activities with parks, greenway trails, and conservation/restoration activities. DeKalb is still looking for park property to acquire, particularly our District 2. There remains $36 million for this and nominations are sought at www.dekalbgreenspace.com

There is an effort to begin a community gardens program at county parks. Space is planned at Mason Mill, Zonolite, and possibly at Kittredge. If you want a sunny plot of land to grow on, contact Charlie Monroe at

Other programs on:

Invasive plants
www.invasive.org and
www.gaeppc.org

Rain gardens
www.cleanwatercampaign.com

Stream bed remediation, and composting are also available through DeKalb.
