Kittredge Park Cleanup

10am to 1pm - Sunday December 13th

Posted: August 5th, 2009 @ 7:57am

The next monthly clean-up of Kittredge Park has been scheduled for 2nd Sunday in December. This remains a multi-neighborhood effort to remove invasive plant species, blaze trails, and decide how OUR park should be developed.

The County has a Parks Department employee assigned to supervise and help us in this effort. They provide education, tools, and gloves. North Druid Hill Residents Association provides drinks and snacks. It is recommended that you bring tools (mark them with your name) and gloves, to be sure that enough are available. It is also recommended that you wear boots, long sleeve shirt, and long pants. Bring waders if you want to clean up creek and waterfall area.
You are welcome to come out just to see and explore the park. If you only have an hour to help out, that's also fine. We just want people to see and shape this newest of DeKalb parks.

Closest entry is on Kittredge Park Drive, off of North Druid Hills, behind Adams Stadium. Park in the cul-de-sac next to the public pool and walk through the gate at east side. You will see or hear the volunteers, ask anyone for direction or orientation.

Hope to see a good turn out! T-shirts are ready for sale ($15) to end this first year of efforts these shirts are marked "Park Pioneer". Donations always welcome.
