t's always interesting to hear a fellow LaVista Park resident comment on the civic association board's "agenda". That remark is interesting because the board doesn't have an agenda … other than what is established by you, the residents of LaVista Park. The board's most important function is to gather and disseminate information to the civic association. It is then the association's responsibility to establish an agenda that the board will follow on behalf of the neighborhood. Sometimes we run into a "no-brainer", like a flagrant violation of DeKalb County's Zoning Ordinance and frequently, there is no time to present the issue to the civic association before action must be taken. In this situation, we feel obligated to act quickly to support the codes and ordinances that have been set forth to protect us.
