NEIGHBORS ON THE WATCH
CRIME ALERT

wice in the last month LaVista Park residents have been watching out for crime. Because of their quick responses, our neighborhood  is safer.
On Wednesday Oct 4,
a man was arrested after neighbors on Elizabeth Ann Lane reported a suspicious man running through their street. Consequently, he was chased from Sheridan Park by watchful residents. The man, white, 6' tall, thin with light colored hair was seen hiding outside someone's open garage. When approached by a resident and his barking dog, the would-be thief fled on foot. The police were called and he was apprehended.
The police were familiar with the suspect, having seen him before in our neighborhood. Be on the lookout for this man. He was not caught with stolen items and will be on the streets again.
Second, on Sunday, September 24 around noon there was an attempted burglary on Beech Haven.

The burglar saw two newspapers left in the driveway and thinking no one was at home, he tried to kick in the back door. An alarm scared him away.  Again an alert neighbor saw the criminal making a getaway and reported valuable information to the police.
Be on the alert for a heavyset black man driving a rust colored car with a possible damaged front end license plate #326LNE. The expired tag, probably stolen, was registered to a Ford Escort.
Remember, papers left
in the drive are a message to criminals that a house is empty.
Call 911 if either of these men is seen. Please let your Neighborhood Watch coordinator, Jane Jaskevich, 404-320-9822 and the patrol know at once.
Make sure you report any crime or suspicious activity to your block captain, watch coordinator and the patrol.
