 President’s Farewell Notes
 Sheila Segal, President

Being part of the Executive Committee of LaVista Park for the past two years has been a privilege. True, it has also been work and has had its frustrations, but we have succeeded in most of our goals. Best of all, for me, has been the chance to get to know more of my neighbors and to work with a really great team.

 Fabulous Fall Festival
 Melinda Marbes, Festival Liaison

This year’s Fall Festival was FABULOUS because our residents, our volunteers, our sponsors, and our community leaders made it great.

The crowd was diverse and reflected the mix of residents we are lucky to have in our neighborhood. Although the adults outnumbered the children—lots of “little” LaVista Park residents turned out for an afternoon of fun.

 Patrol News
 Det. Sgt. Dan Brignone

The crimes statistics for the LaVista Park neighborhood continue to be very low. Since our last report, only two incidents reported to the Patrol: a residential burglary on Wild Creek Trail and a car break-in on Brookforest Drive. We have arrested suspects for similar crimes in nearby neighborhoods. Based upon the information we have currently, we feel those suspects likely were responsible for the crimes in LaVista Park.

The low rate of crime incidents show that the combination of the Patrol, Neighborhood Watch, and vigilant residents is working to keep the neighborhood a safe place to live.

It’s Not Too Late To Sign Up For LaVista Park Security Patrol
Marcus Caltagirone, Neighborhood Watch & Patrol Coordinator

The annual membership drive for the LaVista Park Civic Association and Security Patrol came to a close last month with the removal of yard signs of non- renewing members.

This year LVPCA used many methods to help neighbors remember to subscribe to the Security Patrol and join the Association. LVPCA placed “Renewal Month” signs throughout the neighborhood, mailed renewal forms to every home, asked block captains to go door to door, and included membership forms with each newsletter delivered. We also left a letter and renewal forms for anyone whose Security Patrol yard sign was removed last month.
